Now that I got that out of the way, I going away this weekend with my boyfriend for our anniversary. We both really like getting dressed up, going out for a nice dinner, and just have a “classy” date night instead cooking in like most of the time. But since it’s expensive, we only do it on very rare occasion Well this weekend is our 1 year anniversary and we are pulling out all the stops. We have a lot to celebrate (side note: we just signed a new lease to an amazing apartment we both fell in love with). I decided to buy a new outfit since it is spring and the weather is suppose to be amazing this weekend.
I’m going to show you what I’m going to be wearing, how I’ll do my hair, and makeup.
Let’s start with the shoes! So shoes are always the hardest part for me. I can’t walk in heels. I just don’t have the gracefulness to walk in them. So usually it’s flats for me. BUT, I have wide feet so it’s always a struggle to find a pair of shoes that fit my troll feet. I took a chance, did my research, and found a pair of flats that looked amazing online and ordered them.
Being a curvy AND short gal, it’s hard to find a dress that is the right length and fits well and is flattering. I did tons of browsing online on Torrid, SimplyBe, Lane Bryant, Forever 21+, and Eloquii but just couldn’t find anything I liked or would ship in time for this weekend. It wasn’t until I was walking through JCPenny when a dress pop out and hit me in the face! I seriously went to the store 2 times before I bought it on my 3rd visit. I’m very pleased with my purchase and it will make a great spring/summer dress to add to my wardrobe.
THE HAIR / MAKEUP
For my hair, all I did was curl my incredibly straight hair with a 1 1/2 barrel curling iron. I don’t really ever curl my hair so it will be curly. My hair just doesn’t hold a curl so it’s more just give it body. I parted my hair with a exaggerated side part and pinned the hair with a bobby pin to keep it out of my face.
For make up here’s what I did.
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in Creamy Natural
A Matt foundation is perfect for my skin because I have oily skin and really works wonders on my enormous pores!
For my under eye bags.
Avon Satin Duo Blush on the apples of my cheeks.
Milani Eye Shadow Primer (THIS MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE)
I used the 2nd color on this palette I’m not sure what the name of the color is but it matched my shoes and I wanted keep my eyes farely nude.
Physician’s Formula in Ultra Black
Wet n Wild’s Mega-last Liquid Color in Back in the Fuchsia.
I wanted the contrast of a nude eye and pop lip. I think it looked nice and sweet for a date night!
Have a great weekend!
